One Sun Slide Show

The One Sun, One Day, One World of Photos event has now come and gone.  I greatly appreciate all those who participated and anticipated the sunrise of March 3rd, 2012.  I realize a couple photos submitted were not specifically taken last Saturday, but I appreciate the sentiment and included them into the slideshow.  There are a few additional photos that are being sent my way soon, and I'll include them when they arrive.

I must be honest and admit that I was hoping for a greater number of photos to decorate the community and event page.  However, as I was putting together this slideshow, my gratitude grew, to all of those that I personally know and don't know, that took the time to plan, shoot, and load their photos to facebook.

The music chosen is titled "Uncertainty" by Andee Scott aka Phunker.  The piece was stumbled upon while surfing the internet and it just seemed to fit.  It is easy to believe, and imperative to plan, as if there will always be tomorrow.  But it's also important to remember, we're not guaranteed the opportunity to participate in another day or view another sunrise.

Enjoy the photo contributions in the slide show below, of the "One Sun", we all share.

 All my best...

7 Weeks to Go...

Thus far, we have 125 "likes" of the community page and 270 "attending" the "One Sun, One Day, One World of Photos" event.

With only 7 weeks to go, have you started to think about the composition of your photo or scouted a location? Sunrise photos are often composed of a landscape scene or city skyline. I'd really like to encourage everyone to share what may be special and important to them. Some photos may be captured from a mountaintop, or beach; some of you may walk outside your back door to snap the view from your porch. Maybe you will include a silhouette of yourself, or a loved one, or someone unknown. A simple phone camera is all that is needed; although some of you may be using a top of the line professional model. Either way, the only requirement is an appreciation for the dawn of a new day and a willingness to upload your photo to facebook. Whatever your subject or tool of choice, I look forward to all of you sharing your perspectives.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers-
Denise

One Sun's Seedling

Inspired by the stunning photos shared by facebook friends. "One Sun, One Day, One World of Photos" is an attempt to collect as many sunrise photos as possible from the very same day, all around the world. The final project will assemble all of the submitted photos into a slide show video, beginning with the Eastern most photo and sequential sunrise views all the way around the globe. In an effort to allow enough time and interest, I propose we attempt this assembly for Saturday, March 3rd, 2012. Please pass along to all who may be interested.  I will be collecting photos on the Facebook Page, One Sun, One Day, One World of Photos, so please find the Community page and "Like" it to receive reminders, updates, and tidbits about the project.  And when posting a photo, please state the photographer's name, and time and location of where the picture is taken. I can't wait to see your photos!!
